A place for electronics curiosity.
NewCircuits began in 2001 and spent roughly a decade sharing hobby electronics circuits, projects, and articles. After time away, this edition returns to that original collection with a new design and clearer explanations.
The surviving PHP backup holds the drawings, the experiments, and the character of the original site. They are the foundation of this edition. Original contributor names have been retained where the files identify them.
Restoring the explanations.
Every one of the 54 circuit descriptions has been rewritten. The restored pages explain what each circuit does, how its main stages work, and what to check during an experiment. Five projects and thirteen articles have also been revised.
The circuit figures use the cleaned versions of the original diagrams. A language edit does not validate a schematic: component choices, obsolete devices, performance claims, and PCB layouts still need appropriate technical review and testing. Known problems in the old prose have been corrected or explicitly qualified, rather than carried forward as promises.
What survived, and what did not.
The backup contains 54 circuit pages, 5 projects, 13 main articles, a supporting feedback-amplifier analysis, and 8 ZIP downloads. The old database is absent, so this edition reconstructs descriptive titles and categories from the files. View counts, forum discussions, user accounts, and missing database content have not been invented.
Some article photographs were hosted on other websites and are absent from the backup. Download records also depended on the database: files with uncertain associations are listed separately in the download archive.
A simpler kind of website.
You can browse, search, enlarge schematics, print a project, and save items to your bench. Saved items stay in this browser on this device. The archive does not require an account.
The circuit image files were cleaned to remove the former domain’s watermarks. The infrared remote-control project now includes only its transmitter and receiver schematics; its two PCB layout images have been retired.
