How it works
The FT2232H provides two configurable interfaces; the FT4232H provides four. Such devices can connect a USB host to serial interfaces and, on supported channels, to synchronous protocols through an MPSSE engine.
For the FT4232H, two channels support MPSSE and the other two provide UART or bit-bang operation. The presence of four interfaces does not mean that all four offer identical protocol capabilities.

On the bench
USB bus speed is not the application’s guaranteed throughput. Check the current manufacturer datasheet for channel modes, electrical levels, driver support, and timing before designing a board.
