How it works

The TDA2030 integrates an audio power stage and protection functions into a five-lead package. External feedback components set the voltage gain, while local supply bypassing and the output network help maintain stable operation.

The original page labels this a 10 W design. Output power is conditional on the supply rails, speaker impedance, and permitted distortion; it is not a fixed property of the chip. Use the manufacturer’s datasheet together with the archived schematic.

On the bench

Install a heatsink, confirm the exact supply arrangement, and check for DC at the output before connecting a speaker. Internal protection does not replace sensible current limiting or thermal design.
