How it works

Alternating transistor conduction drives a transformer to convert a low DC voltage into a higher AC voltage. The transformer, switching behavior, and load jointly determine the waveform, losses, and available output power.

The old page’s claims of hundreds of watts or easy kilowatt scaling are unsupported by test data. Increasing transistor or transformer ratings alone does not establish a safe higher-power design.

On the bench

High-voltage design: reference only pending engineering review. The output can be lethal. The original microwave-transformer modification advice has been removed; use a purpose-designed, independently reviewed inverter for practical power conversion.
